Distinguishing some Workers over Others

Distinguishing some Workers over Others

Question :

There are some people at work who are distinguished and consulted with more than the others, even though they are ignorant of the work they are consulted for. Is this allowed?

Answer:

Such distinction that occurs, by giving preference to one person over another is a form of oppression and wrong-doing. It is obligatory to treat customers and workers equally, according to their seniority or rank. As for consultation with those who are deficient in their abilities, this is also unlawful because it is a breach of the trust of the employees. Rather it is required for workers to seek the consultation of each other to solve any problem, and if that does not work, then they bring the matter up with their supervisor to absolve themselves of any guilt.
