The Wife's Disobedience
Question :
Allah, Most High says, in the ruling of His Revelation:
"And if a woman fears cruelty or desertion on her husband's part, there is no sin on them both if they make terms of peace between themselves; and making peace is better."
The question is: Is Nushuz committed by the wife? And what is the ruling if a wife deserts her husband, for the same reasons which call a man to commit Nushuz upon his wife?
Answer:
Nushuz might be committed by a wife for which reasons which call her to that, and Allah has explained the wisdom behind that in His Glorious Book, where He, Most High said, in Surah An-Nisa':
"As to those women on whose part you see ill conduct, admonish them (first), (next) refuse to share their beds, (and last) beat them (lightly, if it is useful); but if they obey you, seek not against them means (of annoyance). Surely, Allah is Ever Most High, Most Great."
